Caring and Creative Connections at The Ridge Cottonwood
Executive Director Stephen L. Christensen shares more about our philosophy of holistic health and the human connections that make each day at The Ridge Cottonwood so special.
The Ridge Cottonwood is unique in the sense that we want to take care of people – not just physically, but also socially, mentally, and spiritually. Our activities are something that’s very important, and we strive diligently to make sure we cover all those areas. We believe in having the arts. We have a wonderful violinist who loves to come in.
When someone moves into The Ridge Cottonwood, the whole building is their home.
If they want to take advantage of the dining room, wonderful. If they want to have a big anniversary party or if they want to have the grandkids come over and play in the game room, they can. It’s their home.
I grew up in this area and individuals who are living here, I’ve known them. And a lot of the children who bring their parents over, I know them, too.
There’s that connection, and that’s what I love.
These are people that have been a part of my life in the past that are dear to me, and I want them to be happy. That’s the most important thing.
Everyone who works here, it’s a calling. There’s a sense of purpose. We not only enjoy doing it, but it is part of our lives. It hits you hard.
