Klint Burningham

Klint Burningham

Executive Director

Klint graduated from the University of Utah in 2013, with a B.A. in international business and a minor in Spanish. He spent two intensive semesters as an exchange student in Oviedo, Spain. He lived with and cared for his grandmother before she passed, which inspires him to work directly with his care team to ensure they provide only the highest level of care. Klint brings with him a unique experience from the hospitality industry, having worked at The Grand America here in Salt Lake City. A friend saw his potential and recruited him into senior living, where he has blossomed as a top executive director and trainer. His family and friends say he brings life and laughter and an exuberance to any activity. He has a huge heart and great compassion for others. Klint’s passion for seniors and energy are contagious.

Raven Storm

Raven Storm

Director of Sales & Marketing

Raven was born in Maryland but spent most of his formative years in Ohio before coming to Utah to attend Brigham Young University. Throughout his career, his passion has been long-term memory care, bringing over three decades of experience in the field to our team at The Ridge Cottonwood. He understands the challenges those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia face, and he brings that expertise to our residents and families every day. Outside of work, Raven is inspired by the ballet, symphony, opera and theater. Raven is also a prominent leader in The Ridge Cottonwood’s dementia support group. He meets with caregivers and loved ones monthly to discuss dementia and Alzheimer’s in a safe and open environment.

Christopher Cornelius

Christopher Cornelius

Building Services Director

Christopher is more than a technician with a Class B CDL certification – he’s an integral part of The Ridge Cottonwood team. Born in Oklahoma, Christopher grew up in Tulsa before living in Denver, Phoenix and Albuquerque. Since joining our team, he’s become known to his colleagues as a dependable, passionate and positive professional. Outside of work, Christopher has a talent for drawing anything he can see, which sometimes amazes even himself.

Cristi Gulbransen

Cristi Gulbransen

Community Life Director

Cristi is very passionate about helping people improve their quality of life. After taking personal training and nutrition courses, she spent 17 years coaching and managing local exercise facilities. She specialized in senior care and helped family members reach their health and fitness goals. She started her career with The Ridge Cottonwood in 2017 in the Tapestry neighborhood. Six months later, she started splitting her hours between assisted living and Tapestry. After a few years, she was promoted to community life director. She enjoys connecting with residents to make their lives more fulfilling and add purpose to their day.

Leslie Austin, RN-BC

Leslie Austin, RN-BC

Assisted Living Director

Leslie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Utah as a Service Learning Scholar in 2004. Upon graduation, she started her nursing career at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah and continued with two years at the Children’s Surgical Unit in Primary Children’s Hospital. Leslie’s devotion to seniors drew her back to the aging population as a home health and hospice nurse. She found a career she truly loves, and soon earned a specialized nursing certification as a gerontological nurse. Now as the assisted living director at The Ridge Cottonwood, she enjoys serving each of the community’s residents, welcoming their wisdom and experience, their sense of humor, and their genuine appreciation of life.

Misty Nomberto

Misty Nomberto

Memory Care Director

Misty is from Walla Walla, Washington. She began volunteering in Senior Living in 1996 and has worked full time in the industry for the last 5 years. She has previously worked in care and as a life enrichment director. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Gerontology from the University of Utah and especially loves working with the Memory Care population. She is a certified Dementia Dialogues instructor for the state of Utah and is also a trained facilitator for virtual dementia tours. She’s a mom of 5, ages 10-20, and enjoys music, photography, hiking and fiber art.

Fernanda Naranjo Olsen

Fernanda Naranjo Olsen

Sales Counselor

Fernanda was born in Guayaquil Ecuador where she attended the University of Guayaquil for business administration in which she has a degree. Fernanda moved to the United States, and began her career as a CNA in 2002. Fernanda has worked in healthcare for 18 years and has worked at the Ridge Cottonwood as the Residents Service Coordinator. She is always happy to help and has a passion for the quality care of our senior population.

Jackie Pappas

Jackie Pappas

Culinary Director

A Utah resident for more than 30 years, Jackie has refined her culinary expertise through positions in various verticals in the industry from food manufacturing to restaurant management to being the Catering Chef at the Utah State Capitol. A “foodie” herself, Jackie knows that great food is the best way to get to residents’ hearts. Jackie is personable and genuine and will work hard to keep residents happy. She holds an Associate in Applied Science in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management from Salt Lake Community College’s Culinary Institute. Friends and family are important to Jackie and she loves spending time with them when not at work.

Carla Azcurra

Carla Azcurra

Health & Wellness Director

Born in Santa Fe, Argentina, Carla has lived in the United States since 2000. She has a passion for seniors and senior living which is reflected in the length of her career and the different positions she’s held within the industry. She revels in being able to learn from the seniors she serves and credits the love of her job to them. She lives by the motto, “People may not remember everything you’ve said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” She’s inspired by her friends and family. She also loves to travel  and learn about new cultures and ways of life.

Gayla Buttars

Gayla Buttars

Business Office Director

Gayla Buttars is known to throw herself into things whole-heartedly in order to accomplish what needs to be done — regardless of the task, she rolls her sleeves up without hesitation. One example of this is that she went back to school at age 45 to complete her degree, all while being a full-time employee, wife and mother. She holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Weber State University and a master’s degree in management and leadership from Western Governors University. At The Ridge Cottonwood, she is known to spread the gift of cheer to residents, families and team members alike. She would never let anyone down. Her love for seniors is evident as she makes sure they get the love, care and respect they earned and deserve. She is most proud of her role as a wife, mother and grandmother to her beautiful granddaughter—her family means everything to her.

Mirela Cejvan

Mirela Cejvan

Move In Coordinator

Born in Eastern Europe, Mirela spent most of her life in Salt Lake City. She has been with The Ridge since 2015 and loves everything The Ridge stands for. She lives the values of The Ridge daily and sees her role as one that allows her to give back to the seniors who paved the path for all of us. She sees her role as Move In Coordinator as a true privilege and honor to advocate for older adults and assist their families navigate their path on life’s road. When she’s not at work, she loves to enjoy the mountains, water and trails in the area. She is fascinated with space and contemplates how small we are in this universe. One of her favorite quotes is by Robert Browning, “Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made.” 

Diane Best

Training Development Coordinator

A native of Ontario, Canada, Diane Best moved to Utah four years ago. She is a certified CNA and is working toward a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Canada Christian College. She started her career in senior living in Canada as a CNA and as a Senior Program Coordinator. She also trained volunteers at other senior living communities and creating engaging programming. She truly has a passion to help and nurture seniors in her care with compassion and respect. Her colleagues describe her as full of positive energy, creative and enthusiastic. Her hard-working nature and belief in herself build trust with her teams and residents. When not at work, Diane enjoys hiking and camping in the Utah mountains. She also fills her days off by spending quality time with her children.
